Falmouth, Maine - - Maine State Ballet announces the receipt of two grant awards for restroom facility upgrades in its building on Route One in Falmouth. In June, the Davis Family Foundation awarded $25,000 for bathroom renovation and upgrading to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) specifications. In July, the Maine Arts Commission’s Cultural Facilities Program also awarded $25,000 to the project.
Much to the excitement of the Maine State Ballet staff, 500 dancers and thousands of patrons to the theater, construction on the facility will begin this week, to be completed before the start of the dance school year on Saturday, September 12. Maine State Ballet just ended its six week summer workshop and August ballet performance programming. This fall Maine State Ballet will present the one act ballet, The Magic Toy Shop, on September 26 & October 3 and A Night of Broadway, a musical revue, October 16-17 and 23-24 at its in-house theater.
