Maine State Ballet's outreach programs extend to the schools, libraries, senior citizen centers, and hospitals with performances and lecture demonstrations. Maine State Ballet also offers the popular Backstage children's concert series for productions at Merrill Auditorium, Backstage at Nutcracker, and at the Maine State Ballet Theater. Through the Backstage productions and the school lecture series, Maine State Ballet reaches 3,000 - 5,000 students per year.

In a 2007 tap event, Maine State Ballet raised $3,800 for the pediatric fund of the Maine Foundation for Cardiac Surgery.
