Maine State Ballet School Spring Recital is our end of the year showcase performance for our full year students.  We believe performing is an important part of dance education. Recital gives each dancer a chance to show their skills in a professional theater space in front of an audience.

For everyone’s safety, Maine State Ballet and Westbrook Performing Arts Center follow Maine CDC guidelines, including the wearing of masks, physical distancing, and building capacity.

By purchasing tickets, you agree to follow these guidelines.

Dress Rehearsals and Performances:

Dress rehearsals will be held the day of your performance at Westbrook Performing Arts Center (Westbrook Middle School) before the show.  For example, if a dancer is in the Sat. 7:30 pm performance, her dress rehearsal will be before to the show on Saturday (see schedule).

Performances will be shorter this year (35-45 minutes total) due to the limited number of dancers in each show.

Also, due to capacity and distancing requirements in the audience, dancers will not be allowed into the auditorium to see the dress rehearsals or performances (they will be in the gym with our staff during these times).  Please do not purchase a ticket for your dancer(s) this year.

Recital Tickets:

$12/seat online-only ticket sales will start Tuesday, May 4th at 10 am through mainestateballet.org.  Phone orders ($5 per order fee applies) will be Monday through Wednesday (May 4-5 and May 10-12) from 4-7 pm at 207-781-7672.  Ticket sales pay for all associated recital costs, including theater rental, staff wages, etc., and to assist with Maine State Ballet's continuing efforts to uplift the Maine community through inspiring dance.

To get as many people safely distanced into the theater as possible, tickets will mostly be sold in groups of four.  If you only need one or two tickets, please consider purchasing all four in the group to benefit Maine State Ballet.  It will significantly help if each group has only one representative purchase all of the group's tickets.

Theater Seating:

MSB Volunteer Ushers will seat all groups with a printed or smartphone ticket during Dress Rehearsals and before performances.  Feel free to come early and watch dress rehearsal in your assigned seats.

Recital Photos and Videos:

MSB will not take official class photos or video the performance this year.  You may video the Dress Rehearsals, but please put away your device during the actual performances.
