Summer 2021 Workshops
Join the Maine State Ballet family for a challenging and fun summer of dance. Our Ballet Intensive workshop curriculum for grades 5 and up includes technique, pointe, variations, partnering and men’s classes for the more serious ballet student. Ballet Pre-Intensive workshop for grades 3 and 4 offers a combination of ballet, variations, repertoire, boys class, jazz and modern. Very Young Dancer workshop is for our very youngest dancers and includes ballet, tap and jazz. All workshops culminate in an end-of-the-week performance on stage in Maine State Ballet's Lopez Theater.

Maine State Ballet follows all current State and CDC health and safety guidelines.

Note: Workshops are not limited to Maine State Ballet students. Dancers from other schools are welcome!
Very Young Dancer - Ages 4-Grade 2*
Tuesday - Thursday; June 22 - 24 and/or June 29 - July 1 (Mornings 9-11:30am)
Maine State Ballet offers two summer sessions for our youngest aspiring dancers. The 3-day workshops incorporate ballet, tap and jazz with a performance opportunity at the end of each session. Students may register for 1 or 2 weeks. A wonderful exposure to the world of dance. No prior training needed.
*Must be age 4 by the first day of your workshop week. Must be age 7 by October 15, 2021.
Ballet Pre-Intensive - Grades 3 and 4*
Monday - Thursday; June 21 - 24 and/or June 28 - July 1 (Mornings 9-11:30am)
Maine State Ballet offers our younger ballet students a 4-day summer workshop in classical ballet with a performance opportunity at the end of the week. Students may register for 1 or 2 weeks. One year of ballet training is required to participate.
*Must be age 8 by October 15, 2021.
Musical Theater - Grades 3*-12
Monday - Thursday; June 28 - July 1, 2021
Maine State Ballet offers a 4-day workshop for students Grades 3 through 12. Learn and perform dances from popular Broadway musicals. No prior training needed.
*Must be age 8 by October 15, 2021.
Ballet Intensive - Grades 5* and Up
Monday - Friday; July 5 - August 6
Maine State Ballet offers a 5 week summer intensive program in classical ballet with a comprehensive curriculum and weekly performance opportunity designed for the serious ballet student. Students may register for any or all weeks. One year of ballet training is required to participate.
*Must also be age 10 by October 15, 2021.
