Summer Workshops
Our Ballet Intensive workshop for Grades 5 and up includes technique, pointe, variations, partnering, and men’s classes for the more serious ballet student. Ballet Pre-Intensive workshop for Grades 3-4 offers a combination of ballet, variations, repertoire, boys class, jazz, and modern. The Young Dancer workshop is for our youngest dancers and includes ballet, tap, jazz, and singing. Musical Theater workshop for Grades 3 through 12 introduces students to dances and songs from popular Broadway musicals. All workshops culminate in an end-of-the-week performance at Maine State Ballet’s in-house Lopez Theater. Please join us for a challenging and exciting summer of dance!
Workshops are not limited to Maine State Ballet students.​
Musical Theater - Grades 3*-12
Monday - Friday; June 24-28 (Afternoons 1-4pm)
5-day workshop for students Grades 3 through 12. Learn and perform dances and songs from popular Broadway musicals. No prior training needed.
*Must be age 8 by October 15, 2024.

Young Dancer - Ages 4-Grade 2*
Monday - Wednesday; June 24-26 (Mornings 9-11:30am)
Monday - Wednesday; July 1-3 (Mornings 9-11:30am)
3-day workshop for aspiring young dancers incorporate ballet, tap, jazz and singing with a performance opportunity at the end of each session. Students may register for 1 or 2 weeks. A wonderful exposure to the world of dance. No prior training needed.
*Must be age 4 by the first day of your workshop week. Must be age 7 by October 15, 2024.

Ballet Intensive - Grades 5* and Up
Monday - Friday; July 8 - August 9
5-week summer intensive program in classical ballet, featuring a comprehensive curriculum and weekly performance opportunities designed for the serious ballet student. Students may register for any or all weeks. One year of ballet training is required to participate. Morning and afternoon sessions are available based on skill level. This program is open to all dancers, regardless of studio affiliation. If you are from another studio, please contact us to determine the appropriate session for you.
*Must also be age 10 by October 15, 2024.
