Set to the haunting Stravinsky score, The Firebird tells the story of Prince Ivan’s quest to free Princess Elena from the grasp of the evil sorcerer, Kostchei. Along the way he encounters and catches a dazzling, magical bird, the Firebird. To be set free, she gives him a feather and tells him to call on her if he needs help. As Ivan is caught by Kotschei and doomed to destruction, he summons the beautiful Firebird to his aid.
