Financial Assistance

A limited number of partial and full tuition scholarships for ballet classes are offered by Maine State Ballet to qualified students ages 8 and up. They are offered for the Dance School Year (September to May) and/or Summer Ballet Intensive Workshop as determined by the Artistic Staff. Maine State Ballet reserves the right to withdraw financial aid at any time if recipients fail to meet scholarship standards.
Financial Assistance Scholarships

Funding is awarded based mostly on financial need (dance potential, aptitude, and commitment are also considered). Financial Assistance applicants need to apply for each session separately (Dance School Year and Summer Ballet Intensive Workshop) by filling in the application form and attaching all required tax forms. Applicants must apply for Fall and Summer sessions separately. Recipients may re-apply for Fall and Summer sessions as well.

These scholarships are funded through generous donations from members of the Maine State Ballet family and the Linwood D. Dyer Scholarship Fund. To contribute, please consider making a donation or becoming a member.

Maine State Ballet Company Member Scholarships

Company dancers who are high school graduates, or the equivalent, and are at least 18 years of age receive full ballet tuition scholarships. Recipients must be in good fiscal standing with the company, remain in the area to dance for Maine State Ballet, and have been invited to perform by the Artistic Director. The scholarship period begins in the fall after a dancer's senior year of high school or equivalent and is evaluated annually.
