A limited number of partial and full tuition scholarships for ballet classes only are offered by Maine State Ballet to qualified students ages 8 and up. They are offered for the Dance School Year (September to May) and/or Summer Ballet Intensive Workshop as determined by the Board of Directors' Finance Committee, in conjunction with the Artistic Staff. Maine State Ballet reserves the right to withdraw financial aid at any time if recipients fail to meet scholarship standards (see below).
Financial Assistance Scholarships
Funding is awarded based on financial need, dance potential & aptitude, and commitment. Financial Assistance applicants need to apply for each session separately (Dance School Year and Summer Ballet Intensive Workshop) by filling in the application form and attaching all required tax forms. Applicants must apply for Fall and Summer sessions separately. Recipients may re-apply for Fall and Summer sessions as well. Male Dancer Development Scholarships
Funding is awarded to promising male ballet dancers to fulfill performance needs of the company. Awards are based on dance potential & aptitude, and commitment. No application required. To donate to this scholarship, please consider becoming a member of the Maine State Ballet family.

Maine State Ballet Company Member Scholarships
Company dancers who are high school graduates, or the equivalent, and are at least 18 years of age receive full ballet tuition scholarships. Recipients must be in good fiscal standing with the company, remain in the area to dance for Maine State Ballet, and have been invited to perform by the Artistic Director. The scholarship period begins in the fall after a dancer's senior year of high school or equivalent, and are evaluated annually.
