Summer Workshops 2026

Maine State Ballet Summer Workshops are open to all dancers, regardless of studio affiliation. Exclusive to Maine State Ballet - All workshops culminate in an end-of-the-session performance at Maine State Ballet’s in-house Lopez Theater for family and friends.  Please join us for a challenging and exciting summer of dance!​

Musical Theater - Students Entering Grades 3*-12

Monday - Friday; June 22-26 (Afternoons 1-4pm; Friday Performance at 5pm)

​

If you love putting on a show, this five-day workshop is for you! During this action packed week, students will learn songs & dances from the popular Broadway musicals "Frozen I & II" with some of Maine State Ballet's most theatrical teachers, culminating with an end of session show under the lights! One week only. $350.

*Participants must be age 8 by October 15, 2026. No prior training is required.

Young Dancer - Students Ages 4-Entering Grade 2*

Tuesday - Thursday; June 23-25 (Mornings 9-11:30am)

Tuesday - Thursday; June 30-July 2 (Mornings 9-11:30am)

​

Created for our youngest students, this three-day workshop offers aspiring young dancers an introduction to or continuation of ballet, tap, jazz, and singing. Students may register for one or both sessions. $155/session.

​

*Participants must be age 4 by the first day of your workshop week. No prior training is required.

Ballet Pre-Intensive - Students Entering Grades 3-4*

Tuesday - Thursday; June 23-25 (Mornings 9-11:30am)

Tuesday - Thursday; June 30-July 2 (Mornings 9-11:30am)

This three-day workshop is designed for dancers who are becoming more serious in their study of classical ballet. Classes include ballet technique, variations, repertoire, jazz, and modern dance. Students may register for one or both sessions. $175/session.

​

*Participants must have a minimum of one year of ballet training and be at least 8 years old by October 15, 2026.

Ballet Intensive - Students Entering Grades 5-12+*

Monday - Friday Advanced Session (Mornings 9-1:00)

Monday - Friday Afternoon Session (Afternoons 2-5:00)

Week 1 July 6-10; Week 2 July 13-17; Week 3 July 20-24; Week 4 July 27-31; Week 5 August 4-7

Students may register for any number of weeks (Weeks 1-3 available for most students going into Gr. 5)

​

Designed for the serious classical ballet student, this summer intensive workshop features a comprehensive curriculum including ballet technique, pointe (for those en pointe), men's, variations, and repertoire. MSB Staff pre-approves dancers for either the morning or afternoon sessions based on skill level (dancers from other studios are encouraged to contact us to determine the most appropriate session). AM Workshop $410/week; PM Workshop $310/week.

*Participants must have a minimum of one year of ballet training and be at least 10 years old by October 15, 2026.

Summer Workshop Registration Changes & Cancellation Policy

​

Maine State Ballet strives to remain flexible for families while responsibly planning staffing, studio space, and resources for our summer programs.

​

Registration and Cancellation Changes

  • Any changes to your registration including  cancellations are permitted at no charge prior to June 15, 2026, subject to availability.

  • After June 15, 2026, week changes may still be accommodated if space allows but will be subject to a $50 non-refundable administrative fee.

  • Cancellations made on or after June 15, 2026 will be subject to a $50 non-refundable administrative fee per registration. The remaining balance will be refunded or credited to the family’s account.

Special Circumstances

  • The administrative fee may be waived at the discretion of Maine State Ballet in cases of documented illness, injury, or family emergency.​​

​
